New Suite of GSM Fixed Wireless Products Features High-Speed Internet Access

                   3GSM World Congress -- Hall 2, Booth G51

CANNES, France, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Telular Corporation
(Nasdaq: WRLS) today unveiled its new SX5 family of fixed wireless products
based on the GSM standard. These products are unique in that they incorporate
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) high-speed Internet capability. GSM is
the world's dominant cellular technology with more than 600 million
subscribers. Many GSM wireless carriers have already upgraded their networks
for GPRS and almost all plan to add the feature in the near future.

    Telular's Phonecell(R) SX5 family includes a Fixed Wireless Phone and a
Fixed Wireless Terminal, both of which are available in 3 models that target
specific fixed cellular applications. All 6 models include a data connection
for GPRS packet data that is capable of Multi-slot Class 10 operation, which
allows data transfer rates of up to 85.6 Kbps -- ideal for Internet access and
e-mail.
"Adding GPRS capability to our new family of GSM products opens up
exciting new markets for Telular," said Mr. Ken Millard, Chairman, President
and CEO for Telular Corporation. "The majority of Telular products sold to
date have been used for basic telephone communications in developing
countries. With the SX5 we now offer high-speed data in a fixed cellular
terminal, opening markets in developed countries where a fixed wireless
product can now effectively replace wired telephone service."
All six SX5 models are available in both dual band 900/1800 MHz versions
that address the majority of GSM markets and single band 1900 MHz versions for
the Americas. The SX5 GSM roadmap includes a dual band 850/1900 MHz version
and EOTD E-911 location technology for compliance with the U.S. FCC Phase II
mandate.
"Telular has done their homework in defining the SX5," said Marcelo
Claure, CEO for Brightstar, Telular's largest distributor. "Rather than
forcing too many features into a single product, Telular efficiently matched
markets and features and developed cost-effective products that address both
existing and emerging applications."

    Phonecell(R) SX5 Models

-- The SX5D Fixed Wireless Phone is a full-featured phone for
traditional wireless local loop voice applications as well as SMS
         text messaging and Internet access.
-- The SX5D Fixed Wireless F-A-X Phone combines the features of the
Fixed Wireless Phone and the analog fax and multiple extension
capability of a traditional Fixed Wireless Terminal.
-- The SX5D Fixed Wireless LCR Phone is a new concept with connections
to both the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and the GSM
         wireless network.

"Customers have been asking for an easy way to take advantage of wireless
rate plans to manage the cost of communications," said Mr. Dan Wonak, Senior
Vice President Marketing for Telular. "The Phonecell(R) SX5D Fixed Wireless
LCR Phone puts this flexibility on the desktop, so that calls can be routed to
either wireless or wireline networks to realize the lowest cost route."

      -- The SX5e Fixed Wireless Terminal is a full-featured, multi-purpose
product offering voice and data, multiple extensions and can be
ordered with or without analog fax capability.
-- The SX5e Fixed Wireless PBX Terminal brings least cost routing to the
enterprise. It connects to either the analog trunk or analog
extension ports of a PBX and can manage communication costs for small
         to large companies.
-- The SX5e Fixed Wireless Modem connects GPRS packet data and GSM
circuit switched data to a computer's serial port.

"The SX5e Fixed Wireless Modem is another industry first for Telular,"
said Mr. Wonak. "Unlike PCMCIA cards, the SX5e is designed for fixed
applications and features a robust antenna and the flexibility to connect to a
higher gain antenna."
Telular announced that the Phonecell(R) SX5 suite of products is currently
completing type approvals. Worldwide field trials commence in April with full
production scheduled for the third quarter of 2002.
