Citadel Announces Release of Hercules(TM) at RSA 2002(TM)

The First Automated Network Vulnerability Remediation Software of Its Kind To
Secure Known Server and Workstation Vulnerabilities

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Citadel Security
Software Inc., a subsidiary of CT Holdings, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: CITN)
will announce the availability of Hercules,(TM) at the RSA Conference
2002(TM). Hercules is the first automated network vulnerability remediation
application of its kind to secure known server and workstation
vulnerabilities, reducing remediation effort for IT personnel.
Steve Solomon, CEO, along with other Citadel executives, will present
Hercules during a press conference in the Santa Clara Room of the San Jose
Hilton Towers at 2 p.m. on Tuesday February 19th. The product will be made
commercially available on February 25th.
"Response to our Beta program for Hercules has been tremendous. It is a
breakthrough network security solution, which is why I could not think of a
better arena [RSA Conference] to announce it," said Steven B. Solomon, CEO of
Citadel Security, "Not only does Hercules uniquely and effectively fill
critical security gaps in the server/workstation environment, but it also
saves IT personnel significant amounts of time and effort. Hercules is an
essential, cost-effective solution no enterprise can afford to be without."
Using a patent-pending process, Hercules automates the identification and
deployment of patches and fixes to commercial operating systems, applications
and databases. The solution aggregates vulnerability/remediation information
from such leading providers as BugTrac, Security Focus and other Internet
sources; it also imports scan information from ISS, CyberCop and Microsoft
hfNetCheck, then matches scan codes with the latest remediation codes from
vendors. Once those steps are complete, Hercules automatically remediates
targeted machines and vulnerabilities according to system administrator
parameters. The software also generates written reports of resolved
vulnerabilities, and continuously monitors servers and workstations to
determine vulnerability status.
Emanuel Carter, Senior Network Engineer for Intratek Computer, Inc., whose
organization participated in the beta testing of Hercules and deployed it at a
large government agency said, "During our beta test of Hercules, it far
exceeded our expectations. It would have taken months of time to remediate
the vulnerabilities which Hercules repaired within an hour. We're excited
about the technology of this system and what it will do to revolutionize the
way we can secure our systems, reduce costs and remain compliant with security
policies and mandates."
"Assessment of operating system and application vulnerability has become a
multi-billion-dollar concern for companies and government agencies worldwide,"
continued Mr. Solomon, "Plus, after recent terrorist attacks and CyberSecurity
risks, the world has become increasingly aware of the need for a secure
environment. New vulnerabilities are being discovered daily at an alarming
rate. As organizations and government entities are put on high alert, the
need becomes more pressing to remediate network vulnerabilities to ensure
security."
According to Security Focus statistics, 650 operating system
vulnerabilities were discovered in the year 2000-126 in Windows 2000/NT and 46
in Windows 9x platforms. CERT data shows that 34,754 vulnerability incidents
were reported in the first nine months of 2001, an increase of 470% over the
same period in 2000.
Hercules software runs on Microsoft NT, 2000, and XP systems, with future
support for Unix/Linux and Solaris under development. For more information
