SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- PoliVec, Inc., formerly
e-business technology, Inc., announced today specially integrated security
products targeted to the banking and credit union markets. The suite of
products helps banks and credit unions build security policies, output an
implementation plan, and scan the network for compliance with the developed
security policies. The solution includes detailed help with security
compliance under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), a mandate set by Congress
for security in financial institutions.
"Using our own tools, and possibly many, many hours with a consultant,
would have taken us weeks to develop and implement a fully compliant security
policy," said Adam Lambert, IT director at Palisades Federal Credit Union."
With PoliVec Builder's GLBA-compliant template and PoliVec Scanner, it took us
just hours to build, implement and check our network security."
PoliVec Builder is an automated security policy development solution
designed for a wide variety of users with diverse levels of security
experience. Using a combination of interactive dialogue screens and a GLBA-
compliant policy solution for banks and credit unions, system and security
administrators develop a comprehensive security policy that can be implemented
throughout their enterprise. Once a security policy has been defined, PoliVec
Builder generates operating system-specific implementation standards, which
provide the IT staff with step-by-step instructions for implementing the
security policy throughout the organization.
PoliVec Builder will provide implementation standards for Windows NT 4.0,
Windows 2000, and Sun Solaris operating systems. Additional implementation
standards will be added soon to support Linux, Novell Netware, AIX, OS/400,
and HPUX.
The policy specifications can be exported to allow integration with other
software applications including PoliVec Scanner, a Windows NT/2000 security
management tool. PoliVec Scanner, which does not require an agent to be
installed, takes the output from PoliVec Builder and scans the network for the
defined policies, checking to make sure they have been implemented.
"I run this after we add users or applications to the network," said
Adam Lambert. "Even though we have built very strict policy implementation
standards using PoliVec Builder, I use PoliVec Scanner to make sure everything
is still buttoned down."
