Athletes Recognized for Demonstrating Personal Style, Innovative Techniques

WHAT: Receive Samsung Style & Innovation Award based on their
distinctive expression of style and substance in their
preparation for the 2002 Games (all athletes are scheduled to
appear)

WHERE: Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung (OR@S) located in Salt Lake Olympic

Skeleton athlete, Jim Shea, Jr., snowboarder, Lisa Kosglow, freestyle
moguls skier, Evan Dybvig, cross-country skier, Lindsey Weier and women's
hockey player, Krissy Wendell are the first recipients of the Samsung Style &
Innovation Award, presented to athletes demonstrating a distinctive expression
of style and substance in their respective sports. These fan favorites
demonstrated a passion for their sport and have made unique contributions to
the advancement of their field of competition.
Athletes participating in the Community Olympic Development Program (CODP)
will be present at the ceremony to meet the award recipients. The CODP, a
Samsung-sponsored program of the United States Olympic Committee, helps
develop the next generation of U.S. Olympians by providing young, promising
athletes with advanced-level coaching and quality programs.
