RSA Security Delivers Web Access Management to Help Create Trusted e-Business Processes

Newest Version of RSA ClearTrust(R) Software Introduces Native Support For
LDAP and New Levels of Interoperability

    SAN JOSE, Calif., RSA(R) CONFERENCE, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security(R),
today announced RSA ClearTrust(R) 4.7 software, the newest version of its Web
access management solution. RSA ClearTrust software helps enable trusted
e-business processes by providing a centralized infrastructure for securely
facilitating user access with single sign-on to Web-based resources. RSA
ClearTrust 4.7 software introduces a new Data Abstraction Layer (DAL)
architecture for data access across the enterprise, native LDAP support and
significant levels of integration across the RSA Security product line.
Organizations worldwide are already using RSA ClearTrust Web access
management to solve the basic business need of enabling users -- employees,
customers, business partners and suppliers -- to easily access Web resources
distributed across the enterprise. New applications that require secure
access can take advantage of RSA ClearTrust Web access management to govern
user access and create a trusted e-business process.
"RSA ClearTrust Web access management enables user access to our tools for
product development, procurement and supply chain management, allowing
registered Covisint users to sign-on once, and seamlessly move between only
the applications and resources they have been authorized to access within the
Covisint site," said Dave Miller, chief security officer at Covisint, a global
solutions provider for the automotive industry. "Our complicated business
requirements stemming from the many levels and types of users we have in our
system demands an access management solution that can work with user data no
matter where it resides, and can easily snap into our IT infrastructure. RSA
ClearTrust 4.7 software achieves this with its highly productive data
abstraction layer and high level of interoperability."
RSA ClearTrust 4.7 Web access management introduces a new architectural
component, the data abstraction layer, which is designed to ensure integration
and native interoperability with customers' existing infrastructure and data
stores, including native LDAP support. The new DAL architecture is designed
to allow administrators to grant or deny access to Web resources based on user
information located in any data repository throughout the enterprise,
leveraging and enhancing existing directories and custom user data stores.
The integration with existing infrastructures is designed to speed
integration, lower overall cost of ownership and ensure short and long-term
investment protection.
"Enterprises want to leverage their investments in existing directory and
data base repositories," said Phil Schacter, director and senior analyst for
the Burton Group. "The RSA ClearTrust software data abstraction layer is a
strong architectural solution that is designed to give customers the
flexibility to store and access identity and access policy information in an
existing repository without concern for product vendor or schema."
Additionally, RSA ClearTrust 4.7 Web access management software delivers
new levels of interoperability and integration, and highlights RSA Security's
commitment to provide best-of-breed solutions that deliver lower total cost of
ownership by leveraging customers' existing and future IT environments. RSA
ClearTrust 4.7 software includes tight integration across the RSA Security
product line, including RSA SecurID(R) authentication, RSA Keon(R) digital
certificate management, and RSA BSAFE(R) encryption, strengthening the
security base of the product and assuring seamless integration. In related
news, RSA Security today announced its RSA ClearTrust Ready Program that is
designed to provide further out-of-box integration and interoperability with
industry-leading solutions.
"The breadth of out-of-box support in RSA ClearTrust 4.7 Web access
management and the new underlying DAL architecture is reflective of RSA
Security's commitment to providing solutions that support the wide range of IT
environments of our enterprise client base," said John Worrall, vice president
of product marketing at RSA Security. "The interoperability achieved with RSA
ClearTrust 4.7 Web access management is designed to assure that our customers
will achieve rapid time to market, lower total cost of ownership and ease of
integration."
