RSA Keon e-Sign is Designed to Reduce Costs and Enable Trusted e-Business
Processes
SAN JOSE, Calif., RSA(R) CONFERENCE, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security(R),
today announced RSA Keon e-Sign software, which is designed to enable
organizations to realize the value of trusted and secure end-to-end electronic
processes by digitally signing Web-based forms. RSA Keon e-Sign software is
designed to allow organizations to streamline business processes while
ensuring the authenticity and integrity of information to meet internal or
external compliance requirements.
While today's e-business applications provide important benefits, many of
them fail to provide end-to-end electronic processes. Parties can communicate
and negotiate securely online, but the process typically moves to a
paper-based environment at a critical juncture -- the point at which a
signature is required. Each time a user has to print a form, sign it and send
or fax it to the intended recipient, the electronic process is interrupted.
This causes significant delays in completing the transaction, and
significantly increases the cost of each transaction. RSA Keon e-Sign
software is designed to eliminate this hurdle and enable organizations to
operate at the speed of e-business by capturing binding signatures within the
electronic processes.
RSA Keon e-Sign software is also designed to help organizations address
electronic signing legislation requirements, such as E-SIGN, HIPAA, 21 CFR
Part #11, GPEA and the EU Directive on Electronic Signatures. Despite
requirements that differ from one regulation to the next, digital signatures,
a specific form of electronic signatures, are commonly recognized as the best
form of electronic signatures. Digital signatures address the four key
properties of hand-written signatures -- authentication of the signer's
identity, acceptance of the terms stated in the signed document, proof of the
integrity of the document's contents and non-repudiation.
RSA Keon e-Sign software, a near zero-footprint, downloadable Web browser
plug-in, is designed to allow customers to apply digital signatures to
Web-based forms. RSA Keon e-Sign software delivers signature verification and
certificate validation services, enabling customers to detect if any
modifications have been made to an electronic form, and giving customers the
ability to perform real-time status checking to determine if the digital
certificate was valid. RSA Keon e-Sign software is a fully interoperable,
standards-based solution that is designed to integrate with current versions
of the RSA Keon product line as well as other digital certificate management
solutions.
"RSA Keon e-Sign software is designed to allow organizations and
government agencies to increase responsiveness to customers and achieve
greater efficiencies by creating end-to-end e-business processes in a secure
and trusted manner," said John Worrall, vice president of product marketing at
RSA Security. "Digital signatures are an important benefit to the online
application infrastructure, both as a method for authentication of users and
as a key enabler of integrity for digital information on enterprise networks.
RSA Keon e-Sign software allows businesses to move at 'e-speed,' reduce the
overall cost of document processing and address electronic signing legislation
requirements."
