Eagle USA Airfreight, Inc. Changes Its Name to 'EGL, Inc.' and Stock Trading Symbol to 'EAGL'

HOUSTON, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle USA Airfreight, Inc. (Nasdaq: EUSA)
announced today that shareholders at its annual meeting voted to change the
company's name to EGL, Inc., in recognition of its increasing globalization,
broader spectrum of services and long-term growth strategy.
Eagle USA Airfreight began its operations as an airfreight forwarder
solely in the United States. To respond and adapt to its customers' needs,
the company expanded its services to include ground, ocean and logistics.
Acknowledging the demands of customers with international requirements and the
opening of international terminals, Eagle's management and Board of Directors
concluded that the name change was appropriate to recognize the company's
growth and industry position.
"In the past eight years alone, Eagle has grown from a private company
with fewer than 300 domestic employees to a company of more than 3,000 people
working in 90 locations in nine countries around the globe," said Chairman and
CEO James R. Crane. "As we continue our international growth, it's important
that our name be representative of our broader markets and services while
continuing to leverage our investment in the Eagle brand."
In addition to the corporate name change, Eagle has changed its Nasdaq
stock trading symbol to "EAGL." The Company's shares will begin trading under
the "EAGL" ticker symbol effective on the morning of Monday, February 28,
2000.
Since October 1999, the company has operated its businesses worldwide
under the name EGL Eagle Global Logistics. Eagle's dedication to providing
superior flexibility and fewer shipping restrictions on a price competitive
basis has made it a leading provider of airfreight forwarding and other
transportation and logistics services. The Company's network of 90 terminals
in nine countries features state-of-the-art information systems designed to
maximize cargo management efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Company's
shares are currently traded on the Nasdaq-Amex National Market under the
symbol "EUSA" and begin trading under the symbol "EAGL" effective February 28,
2000.
