HOUSTON, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Ocean Energy, Inc. (NYSE: OEI) announced
today that Robert L. Thompson has been appointed Vice President and
Controller, Philip J. Iracane has been named Vice President, Marketing, and
Janice Aston White has been promoted to Vice President, Corporate
Communications.
Thompson spent the majority of his 30-year career with Oryx Energy
Company, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company
headquartered in Dallas. His positions there included Director - Financial
Analysis, Director - Business Planning and Acquisitions and Controller and
Vice President - Planning. He most recently was with Cambridge Energy
Research Associates, a leading energy research firm, as a senior consultant on
finance and economics participating in a natural gas supply study.
Iracane joins Ocean Energy from Columbia Gas of Virginia, a natural gas
distribution subsidiary of Columbia Energy Group. He served as Vice President
of Sales and Services for that organization with responsibility for
residential, commercial, industrial and national account sales and the
customer service center. Prior to that assignment he was Senior Vice
President of Eastern Region Marketing at Coastal Gas Marketing Corporation in
Houston, overseeing sales and marketing functions for the eastern United
States region. Prior to his 11-year tenure with that company, Iracane served
as Gas Marketing Manager, Sales & Marketing, East Coast for one of Ocean
Energy's predecessors, Seagull Energy Corporation.
White joined Ocean Energy in November 1999 from Acclaim Communications, an
agency she formed after serving for six years as Director of Corporate
Communications for Tenneco Energy, the natural gas transmission and marketing
division of Tenneco Inc. In this role she had oversight for employee,
marketing, and executive communications, media and community relations and
associated administrative functions. Prior to that assignment, she worked in
several corporate communications positions in Tenneco's corporate office and
oil and gas exploration and production unit.
