Release 4.2 Adds On-Demand Malware Protection, Secure Desktop, Out-of-Band
Authentication and Support for Complex Web Applications

    SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA CONFERENCE 2004 -- Netilla(R)
Networks, Inc., a leading provider of SSL VPN and secure application access
management solutions, will unveil the latest edition of its dynaTRUST policy-
enforcement operating environment here at RSA(R) Conference 2004, one of the
industry's leading security events. Responding to the growing threat that
viruses, worms and Trojans pose to enterprise networks from the unsecured PCs
of remote users, dynaTRUST Release 4.2 enables enterprises to extend security
beyond the encrypted tunnel, allowing them to confidently deliver "anytime,
anywhere" access to vital information resources.

At booth #719 (RSA Secured Partner Pavilion), Netilla will showcase
dynaTRUST Malware Detection, which performs a rapid, comprehensive behavioral
scan of a remote user's PC to check for Trojan horses, worms and eavesdropping
threats before the user is authenticated and granted network access. Also new
is the dynaTRUST Secure Desktop, an optional feature that stores a user's
session activity in a single encrypted file that is erased upon session
completion to prevent "digital leakage" and protect user privacy. Both new
features are available as dynaTRUST options. Netilla is an RSA Secured Partner
and has long supported RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication.
"Netilla's new Malware Detection and Secure Desktop features address two
critical issues facing enterprises who are providing secure remote access:
ensuring that a remote device is clean when the user walks up to it and clean
when they walk away," said Bryan Bain, vice president of marketing and
corporate development at Netilla Networks. "With Release 4.2, Netilla is
delivering on our promise to integrate security policy enforcement with our
multi-stage authentication architecture."
"Netilla is one of the very few SSL VPN vendors whose strategic vision
encompasses the true breadth of the emerging secure application access market
needs," said Peter Christy, principal at NetsEdge Research Group. "The policy-
enforcement features being announced today help make remote access more
secure, but perhaps even more significant is the fact that the use of these
technologies is not restricted to the 'nomadic fringe' of teleworkers, road
warriors and partners - but instead enables the provisioning of dynamic trust-
based access for all authorized users in today's virtual enterprise."
Additional new features of dynaTRUST Release 4.2 include:

     * "Out-of-band" authentication (available as an option): Augments the
standard authentication process (user name and password) by requesting
that the user enter a PIN into a mobile or landline phone before being
        granted network access.
     * Support for advanced Web-based applications by adding sophisticated
Java applet-rewriting functionality to its Web reverse proxy,
        strengthening Netilla's industry-leading application translation
features. The Netilla Security Platform offers three versatile
application access modes: browser-based thin-client access to
virtually any client/server application (Windows, UNIX, Linux, and
mainframe); Web-based applications via HTTP reverse proxy; and the
Netilla Virtual Adapter, which provides network-layer access via SSL
        tunnel.

"As our unit of Johnson-Matthey rolls out secure remote access to a
growing number of remote workers and contractors, it's vital to ensure that
our corporate network remains impregnable to worms, Trojans and malware that
may be on remote PCs we simply have no control over," said Randy Colone,
technical services manager for the Environmental Catalysts and Technologies
division of Johnson-Matthey, a London-based global specialty chemicals
manufacturer. "Netilla's latest dynaTRUST enhancements will go a long way
towards ensuring that remote users will be bound by the same security policies
that already apply to onsite workers on our LAN. And that will actually allow
us to provide secure access to applications to more employees more quickly."

A Proactive Approach to Client Integrity
Recent events such as the Mydoom attack - described as the fastest-
spreading virus ever, with up to 1 million PCs infected in a short time -
highlight the urgent need to insulate enterprise networks from threats that
may be unwittingly spread by remote users logging in from PCs outside company
control. The dynaTRUST Malware Detection takes a behavioral-based approach
that provides "zero hour" protection, without updates, against worms and
backdoor threats on remote PCs. This proactive approach provides more timely
protection than traditional signature-based antivirus solutions that require
downloading software patches only after a new virus has been identified.
Similarly, the new dynaTRUST Secure Desktop feature ensures that no trace
of a remote session is left behind - especially important for remote users
accessing enterprise data at kiosks or Internet cafes. While transparent to
the end user, the Secure Desktop creates a secure session in which all data --
including browser history, application data, and email -- is stored in a in an
encrypted "data vault" that is automatically erased at termination.
dynaTRUST Release 4.2 is available immediately for all three versions of
the Netilla Security Platform: B-class (up to 150 concurrent sessions), E-
class (up to 1,000 concurrent sessions and G-class (up to 2,000 concurrent
sessions).
