NetProtect Version 6.3 Software Boasts Significant
New IPS Capabilities For Networks
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Vsecure Technologies (US) Inc.,
developer of advanced network security Intrusion Prevention products,
announced a software upgrade that brings forensic capabilities, enhanced worm
protection, DDoS protection and improved filters to further minimize intrusion
and attack risks for its NetProtect(TM) Enterprise customers.
Vsecure's Version 6.3 upgrade enhances the functionalities of its
NetProtect Enterprise suite of 100% behavior-based intrusion prevention
appliances. The upgrade is particularly valuable to customers receiving
secondary server-to-server worm infections through remote VPN use. Vsecure's
NetProtect Enterprise proactively detects and blocks a wide range of attacks
in real time, without human intervention. New features and options included in
Version 6.3 include:
* Forensic Capabilities - NetProtect Enterprise users can now isolate,
capture and analyze suspicious communications streams and attacks such
as Network scans, Web scans, Brute Force attacks against Web servers
and similar types of malicious activities. This forensic feature
allows NetProtect users to easily investigate and characterize the
effectiveness of attack tools, identify new attack trends and isolate
potential new network vulnerabilities. These forensic capabilities are
particularly valuable in analyzing new "worm" activity when used in
conjunction with Vsecure's ability to identify even unknown attacks
based on their behavior.
* Enhanced Worm Protection - Using a rate limitation mechanism, Version
6.3 can detect and defend against worm infection from within the
defended network, complementing NetProtect's proven blocking
capabilities from worm propagation originating from public networks.
* Advanced DDoS Prevention - A significant improvement in Vsecure's
closed-feedback technology enhances NetProtect's ability to defeat
Distributed Denial of Service attacks. Up to 17 different self-
optimizing filters based on "attack" footprints allow rapid
identification and blocking of DDoS attacks.
* Improved Attack View Filters - In direct response to customer feedback
originating from organizations with a high rate of attacks directed
against their networks, Version 6.3's uses display filters in the
Graphical User Interface of the SuperVisor(TM) Management Console.
This allows simplified sorting and prioritization, so that NetProtect
users can easily single out specific types.
Version 6.3 is available as a flash upgrade for the NetProtect Enterprise
LG100 and LG1000 appliances. The upgrade, which can be accomplished in
minutes, is available at no cost to current NetProtect subscribers with Annual
and Premium Service Agreements, and can be downloaded by registered users from
through a simple upgrade from the "Support" area of the Vsecure website at

Vsecure has its latest product offering, the NetProtect LG1000
"GigaEthernet" IPS on display at RSA Conference 2004, Moscone Center, Booth
