WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 200 new technology products will
be introduced at FOSE 2004, the government's largest gathering of information
technology professionals. Some 450 exhibitors will attract 20,000 federal
high tech buyers along with 5,000 industry professionals to learn about the
latest in computing technology at FOSE 2004 on March 23-25 at the Washington
DC Convention Center.
"The technology industry has responded rapidly to the federal government's
burgeoning need for innovative solutions, and they will be showing off their
new products at FOSE," said Bill Howell, executive vice president of
PostNewsweek Tech Media and general manager of FOSE. "Leading corporations
such as Macromedia, HP, Apple, Panasonic, IBM, Microsoft, Accenture, Lockheed
Martin, SAIC, and hundreds of other firms, small and large, are introducing
new ways for government to operate more efficiently, safeguard our country,
and move our national agenda forward."
John Breeden II, lab director for the market's leading newsmagazine,
Government Computer News, and 14 editors formed a judging committee to rank
products introduced at FOSE for the Best New Technologies Awards. Nominees
included security products from Kanguru and Enterprise; storage systems from
Exabyte and Gateway; network hardware from PowerConnect and Raritan; portable
computers from Panasonic and MPC; peripherals from HP and Xerox; handheld
clients from RIM and Percomm; enterprise systems software from Computas and
Qovia; enterprise application software from Zylab, Siebel and Macromedia;
display devices from Infocus and NEC, desktop clients from IBM and Ace Vision;
and scores of other companies.
"We looked at more than 100 products for the Best New Technology Awards
this year," Breeden said. "All of the contenders were innovative and tightly
focused on the government market. We had some tough choices to make in
selecting our finalists, and the ones that were ultimately chosen are the
cream of the crop in terms of innovation, specifications, features and overall
value. I can't wait to present the finalists and category winners their
awards on the opening day of FOSE this year."
FOSE 2004 will take place at the new Washington DC Convention Center from
Tuesday to Thursday, March 23-25, 2004. The trade show and education program
are free to government professionals. Government Computer News' Best New
Technology Awards will be presented on Tuesday, March 23 at 11:00 AM in Booth
2625 on the FOSE Exhibit Floor. For more information about FOSE, visit
