Broadened Product Integration Supports Growing Customer Demand for Oblix
Identity and Access Management Solutions Running on Microsoft Platform
SAN FRANCISCO, RSA CONFERENCE, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Oblix, a leading
developer of identity-based security solutions, today announced support for
Microsoft Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), a mode of Windows Server
Active Directory that provides customers with flexible deployment options.
With this latest expansion of its relationship with Microsoft, Oblix will
offer a bundled offering that delivers ADAM along with the Oblix COREid(R)
Identity and Access Management solution.
"ADAM represents a breakthrough in directory services technology that
provides flexibility and helps organizations increase operational efficiency,"
said Michael Stephenson, group product manager of the Windows Server Division,
Microsoft. "Identity Management and Web Access Management are two key
solution areas that are ideally suited for ADAM. The combined
Microsoft / Oblix solution simplifies the process for customers deploying
Identity and Access Management solutions on Windows Server."
"Today's leading companies continue to move their business processes to
the Web to drive down costs and improve relationships with key constituents,"
said Prakash Ramamurthy, vice president of products and technology, Oblix. "In
doing so, Oblix customers are choosing Windows Server Active Directory as
their platform of choice to manage the identities of end users accessing
business applications via the extranet. In these situations, Microsoft ADAM is
a perfect fit with Oblix Identity and Access Management solutions to build a
flexible, secure and scalable identity infrastructure that can be leveraged
for large-scale extranet deployments."
ADAM can be easily installed and implemented in scalable environments,
making it the ideal directory service to deploy with an application such as
Oblix COREid. Oblix has further simplified the deployment process for the
customer by re-distributing ADAM along with the Oblix COREid solution. Oblix
provides comprehensive support for Windows Server 2003, including enhanced
Active Directory, ADAM and MIIS support, as well as applications built on the
.NET Framework. Oblix and Microsoft worked together to develop a tightly
integrated solution that combines the robust Identity Management capabilities
of Oblix COREid with the scalability, performance, and security of Windows
Server 2003 and ADAM.
Recently, Oblix announced its plans to acquire Confluent Software, a
leading provider of Web services management solutions for the enterprise. The
acquisition directly addresses a rapidly growing need for companies that are
continuing their online evolution through the deployment of Web services.
Oblix has also made several recent customer announcements on the Microsoft
platform, and is now powering the identity infrastructure in use by the United
States Postal Service, the US Navy (SPAWAR), the City of Calgary, and the
government of Belgium.
