Eset Unveils NOD32 Remote Administrator For Easy, Network-Based Antivirus Management

New Enhancement for NOD32 Antivirus Lets Administrators Remotely Install,
Monitor, Analyze, and Upgrade NOD32 Across LANs and WANs from Central Console

    SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA Conference Booth #1509 -- Eset
Software, a leading provider of computer software security solutions,
announced today the debut of NOD32 Remote Administrator, a new and even more
effective way to manage the company's NOD32 virus detection software in an
enterprise network environment. NOD32 Remote Administrator (RA) can lower
costs and increase efficiency for distributed organizations of any size,
giving IT professionals the ability to install and manage corporate antivirus
protection while allowing instant intervention in the case of a security
incident.
NOD32, consistently rated one of the world's best antivirus products, has
amassed an unprecedented and industry-leading 24 consecutive VB100% awards
from Virus Bulletin magazine. With the advent of NOD32 RA, enterprise users
can be sure the full power of NOD32 is deployed completely and consistently on
PCs located on corporate or small business LANs or WANs, anywhere in the
world.
"Enterprises employing tens, hundreds, or even thousands of people face
unique challenges in their fight against software viruses," said Pavel Luka
the chief architect of the new program. "NOD32 Remote Administrator gives
them the power they need to practically and efficiently defend their corporate
systems. It combines world-class virus protection with a highly convenient
command-and-control interface."
NOD32 RA consists of two basic modules: NOD32 RAS (Remote Administrator
Server) and NOD 32 RAC (Remote Administrator Console). NOD32 RAC is an easy-
to-use GUI that communicates with Remote Administrator Server; RAS, in turn,
sends and receives data from all workstations on the enterprise network that
use NOD32 antivirus.

    Full Feature Set
Using NOD32 RAC, computer security managers can execute a full range of
tasks, including:

     * Remote Installation: Administrators can now "push" installation on
any Windows NT/2000/XP device (completion via logon macro); send a
simple "run and forget" silent installer via email; obtain a report
on installation status; and search for unprotected PCs for later
          deployment or maintenance.
     * Workstation Monitoring: Managers can view comprehensive client
information on a single pane; sort information using filters; and
view logs from the client (Alert Log, Event Log, and Scan Log) in
          full detail.
     * Workstation Interaction: NOD32 RAC users can change the NOD32
configuration of multiple clients at once; perform silent, on-demand
scanning on specific workstations without the intervention or
          knowledge of the end-user; force the clients to check for an update;
and create groups of clients to facilitate execution of update
          tasks.
     * Reporting: IT staff can generate a wide range of predefined or
customized reports that feature easy-to-read tables and charts.
Reports can be pulled automatically and repetitively at scheduled
intervals, and can be filtered to highlight specific clients and/or
viruses. All reports are in HTML for easy publishing on corporate
          Intranets.

    Instant Attack Notification
One of the most valuable advantages of NOD32 RA is its instant reporting
features. When a virus attack is detected anywhere on the network, system
administrators are able to intervene instantly. Viruses and other security
incidents are automatically recorded for later review and analysis.

    Now Available
NOD32 Remote Administrator is competitively priced (specific licensing
cost dependent on network size) and is available for immediate purchase. For
