SAN FRANCISCO, RSA CONFERENCE 2004, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Network security and flow classification market leader Hifn (Nasdaq: HIFN) and
Seaway Networks Inc., the award winning provider of high performance network
content processing silicon, announced today that Seaway's StreamWise
NCA2000-L4C and L7C Network Content Acceleration Cards feature Hifn security
processors. Unveiled earlier today, the NCA2000 family of PCI-X cards enables
OEM's to turn a standard 1u/2u rack-mount server into a multi-gigabit,
multi-service networking platform.
The NCA2000 delivers advanced network processing, stream switching,
content processing and application offload to enable a 10-20 fold performance
improvement in Application Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems,
SSL Accelerators, Firewall/VPN Systems, Content Switches, or other systems
requiring high performance layer 2-7 processing.
The NCA2000-L4C and L7C cards include an on-board Hifn HIPP II 8154
cryptographic processor to accelerate compute-intensive algorithms including
AES, DES, 3DES, ARC4, RSA, DSA, SSL, IKE, DH, SHA1 and MD5. The NCA2000-L4C
and L7C are full sized, 64-bit/133MHz PCI-X 1.0 compliant boards which support
up to 4 GB of stream memory and up to 2 GB of processor memory. The cards come
with two 1000base-T (copper) or two SFP 1000base-SX (fiber) ports.
"Security appliances are increasingly expected to support SSL and IPsec
services at fast data rates," said David Lapp, Seaway's Chief Technology
Officer. "The ability of the Hifn 8154 to operate on both types of traffic
made it an excellent choice for our Network Content Accelerator."
"Seaway's NCA2000 addresses the wide range of processing requirements seen
in the security market today," said Dennis Zattiero, Hifn's network security
product manager. "We are highly pleased that Hifn's HIPP II 8154 security
processor is a part of this innovative networking solution."
The Hifn HIPP II 8154 security processor delivers 2Gbps system-level
performance for Virtual Private Networks and SSL-supported applications, while
accelerating most commonly used encryption algorithms, including AES. The Hifn
HIPP family is supported by a comprehensive set of software tools, including a
Software Development Kit (SDK) and Hifn's Security Platform (HSP), a
collection of hardware and software that provide a full security reference
solution for manufacturers of IPsec and SSL networking products.
The StreamWise NCA2000 PCI-X card family is sampling now with general
availability in 2Q 2004. The NCA2000 Virtual Development Platform is available
now.
