TROY, Mich., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Original Equipment Suppliers
Association (OESA) announces "Business Opportunities in China," a half-day
seminar to examine business development opportunities for automotive suppliers
interested in entering the Chinese marketplace, Monday, March 3, 2003 during
the 2003 SAE World Congress at Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich.
OESA is a 310-member trade association representing the interests of
automotive original equipment suppliers. OESA provides a forum for suppliers
to address issues of common interest and serves as a resource and a voice for
the industry.
"This event is a comprehensive analysis of the issues and opportunities
suppliers can expect from the Chinese marketplace," said Neil De Koker,
president of OESA. "The OESA program includes a panel of executives from tier
one suppliers presently operating in China," he added. De Koker continued,
"The event also features a financial analysis of how automotive production
from China will integrate into the global automotive industry and insight into
how suppliers can successfully enter the Chinese market."
Grace Parke Fremlin, partner, Foley & Lardner, will analyze the options
available to supplier companies examining establishing operations in China, in
a presentation titled, "Structuring Supplier Business Operations in China:
Joint Venture vs. Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise." OESA Affiliate Member
Foley & Lardner is sponsoring the event.
Wayne Xing, editor and publisher of China Business Update will open the
OESA session with a primer on the Chinese market.
A panel of executives representing companies with a presence in the
Chinese market will discuss the risks and opportunities associated with
operating in the region. ArvinMeritor, Inc., ASIMCO, Delphi Corp., Tenneco
Automotive, and TRW Automotive are represented. Robert Deutsch, business
director of the powertrain systems division, Motorola, Inc. will present an
analysis of logistics and procurement issues.
The Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) provides a strategic
forum for the automotive industry's original equipment suppliers. Membership
encompasses suppliers of components, modules, systems, materials, and
equipment used by the original equipment automotive industry.
Formed in August of 1998, OESA provides a forum for automotive suppliers
by addressing issues of common concern through peer group councils; serving as
a reliable source of information and analysis; and providing an industry
voice, when appropriate, on issues of interest.
With 310 members having global automotive sales exceeding $280 billion,
OESA represents over 60% of North America's automotive supplier sales.
