TORONTO, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Stanton DeFreitas, the consultant who
assisted in the establishment of PDP International Bank (PDP) in St. Vincent
and the Grenadines, has received written confirmation from Portus Alternative
Asset Management Inc. (Portus) that the company has never had and does not
have any business dealings with the Caribbean bank.
Mr. DeFreitas revealed contents of a letter addressed to him by Mr. Boaz
Manor, Managing Director of Portus, stating that, "[Portus] does not have, and
never had, any business dealings with PDP International Bank. Portus has
never engaged in any transaction with the Bank and the Bank does not hold any
securities for Portus." Mr. Manor went on to state that, "Portus has never
communicated or transacted with Mr. Stanton DeFreitas."
Mr. DeFreitas said that, "It is important to reiterate that Portus, not
PDP or Stanton DeFreitas, is the focus of an OSC investigation but the
potential harm it can cause to our respective reputations need to be mitigated
now, not only for PDP and Stanton DeFreitas, but also for St. Vincent and
the Grenadines. The jurisdiction does not deserve the type of publicity
received to date, especially since St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a well-
regulated international financial services center."
