DETROIT, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Communications can make or break an
organization going through change. The Detroit chapter of the International
Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Detroit) will host a Wednesday,
Mar. 10 professional development program focusing on how to effectively manage
major organizational change announcements. The meeting will be held at the
offices of ArvinMeritor, 2135 West Maple Road in Troy, from 11:45 a.m.-
1:30 p.m.
Lin Cummins, APR, senior vice president of Communications for
ArvinMeritor, will share her experiences with major change announcements such
as restructuring, downsizing, plant closure, merger acquisition and divesture.
From development to execution, Cummins will provide insight into communication
strategies that work and why.

in the digital drive survive and thrive in today's changing business
environment," said Cindy Orlandi, APR, president of IABC/Detroit and principal

Communicator of the Year."

Each year, IABC/Detroit recognizes a business communications professional
as the Communicator of the Year during the annual Renaissance Awards ceremony.
The award recognizes a business communicator who has demonstrated outstanding
leadership in fostering excellent business communications, as well as the
highest ethical and professional standards. March 25 is the deadline for
nominations for the 2004 IABC/Detroit Communicator of the Year to be awarded
at the chapter's 23rd annual Renaissance Awards at the General Motors Vehicle
