ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Lopez, division vice
president, Charter Communications account of Starz Encore Group LLC (Starz
Encore), announced the new hire of Tina Carter, sales director, and Jim Koen,
director of training. Carter and Koen are both working for the Starz Encore
Charter Communications account division based in the St. Louis, Missouri
regional office of Starz Encore.
Carter brings a wealth of telecom and cable related experience to her
position, with previous experience in consultative sales, sales management,
major account management, strategic planning, marketing communications and new
business development. In her new role as sales director, Carter will play an
integral role with sell-in and execution of Starz Encore's premium movie
service Starz Super Pak and Encore Movie Pak, as well as its industry-leading
subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service Starz On Demand.
Prior to joining Starz Encore, Carter worked in sales for Pathfire
(formerly Video Networks, Inc.), Applied Digital Access and Teradyne Inc. At
Applied Digital Access she consistently ranked #1 in company sales and
negotiated and secured multi-year contracts with Ameritech (SBC), Southwestern
Bell (SBC), MCI (Worldcom) and Sprint. At Teradyne she took her region's
annual sales from $0 to $6 million in less than 2 years and also ranked #1 in
company sales. Carter graduated Cum Laude from Drury University with a
bachelor of arts in education.
Koen brings over 20 years of cable and satellite industry experience to
his new position. As director of training, Koen will help the Charter
division raise its level of effectiveness at all points of sale in order to
increase Starz Super Pak and Encore Movie Pak subscribers and revenue. Koen
will also play a vital role with the continued sell-in and execution of the
Starz On Demand initiatives.
Koen came to Starz Encore from AT&T where he was the regional director of
marketing responsible for all marketing related activity in the St. Louis
region of AT&T Broadband and Internet Services. Among other things, Koen
constructed regional product packaging and pricing policies and took the lead
in the branding of AT&T Cable Services from TCI Cable Services, the launch of
AT&T Digital Cable, AT&T @Home Internet and AT&T Wireline Local Phone Service.
Koen also held various sales and marketing positions for TCI in St. Louis and
Denver, Colorado, in addition to working for Primestar and The Weather
Channel.
In 1996, Koen was selected as Primestar distributor of the year and he has
served as co-president of the Cable Association of Greater St. Louis. Koen
graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science
in commercial art and also minored in speech communications with an emphasis
in educational psychology.
