BEA Systems Scheduled to Showcase Innovative RFID Technology at RFID World 2006

RFID WORLD 2006, DALLAS, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BEA Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: BEAS), a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, invites
you to see demonstrations of its BEA WebLogic RFID product family at RFID
World 2006, Booth 1318, scheduled to be held in Dallas, Texas,
February 27 - March 1, 2006.
Leveraging technology from BEA's acquisition of ConnecTerra in October,
2005, [please see BEA Acquires Pioneering Provider of RFID Infrastructure
Software; Extends Infrastructure Offering to the Edge, 10/11/05] the BEA
WebLogic RFID product family is a complete, standards-based, software
infrastructure platform designed to help companies develop, deploy and manage
RFID-enabled business processes for asset tracking and supply chain
optimization. Targeting the logistics, retail, manufacturing, consumer
packaged goods, transportation, pharmaceutical and other industries, these
products are designed to help address key business challenges and help deliver
significant benefits including: higher profits through optimized asset
inventory; improved public safety through targeted product recalls and reduced
product counterfeiting; increased revenue by reducing out-of-stocks; improved
margin through reduced product diversions; and reduced spoilage and
obsolescence by monitoring expiry date, temperature, and humidity for every
product in the supply chain.
The BEA WebLogic RFID product family is comprised of three products: BEA
WebLogic RFID Edge Server(TM), BEA WebLogic Enterprise Server(TM) and BEA
WebLogic Compliance Express(TM).

-- BEA WebLogic RFID Edge Server is designed to provide broad device
support, robust data filtering and aggregation, extensive RFID
infrastructure monitoring and management, and seamless integration with
       existing platforms.
-- BEA WebLogic RFID Enterprise Server is designed to help central
management of RFID data collected at the "edge" of an enterprise. It
can allow business partners an unprecedented view into product movement
data, and can help enable the central provisioning of RFID data in
distributed tagging operations. The RFID Enterprise Server is a
critical piece of software infrastructure designed for rapidly
achieving ROI from RFID data collected at the edge.
-- BEA WebLogic RFID Compliance Express is designed to be a low risk,
cost-effective solution for ensuring RFID compliance. It can help
companies address compliance challenges, while establishing a
foundation for larger-scale deployments that may include a mix of
       Tag-at-Ship, Tag-at-Pick, Tag-at-Source, and other related EPC-based
       business processes.

The combination of the BEA WebLogic RFID product family, coupled with
BEA's Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-driven WebLogic(R) and AquaLogic(TM)
technologies and additional partner offerings, can help enable businesses to
leverage enterprise assets from the network edge back to the data center with
reliability, availability, scalability and performance at all levels.
The demonstrations at RFID World 2006 are scheduled to show how using BEA
WebLogic RFID Compliance Express can help enable companies to meet RFID
product tagging requirements to satisfy retail and/or Government compliance.
Additionally, there is scheduled to be a demonstration of AquaLogic(TM) High
Performance (HiPer) Workspace for Retail, a closed-loop notification and task
management product designed for improving store operations, built with
technology from the AquaLogic(TM) User Interaction product family. Deployed
along with BEA WebLogic RFID products, the two technologies illustrate an
innovative end-to-end retail product that is designed to integrate the supply
chain through to the store floor.
