Columbia Banking System to Present at 2007 West Coast Financial Services Conference

    TACOMA, Wash., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Columbia Banking
System, Inc. (Nasdaq: COLB) announced today that Melanie J. Dressel,
President and Chief Executive Officer, will participate in the "Washington
Community Banks" panel discussion at the Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L.P.
2007 West Coast Financial Services Conference in San Francisco, California.
The panel discussion will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, beginning at
9:45 a.m. PST (12:45 p.m. EST).
