ATLANTA, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Preferred Networks, Inc.,
(OTC Bulletin Board: PFNT) (PNI), a leading outsourcing services provider to
the wireless industry, today reported that it has received a follow-on order
for its iTerminals(TM). PNI has received a 6-unit order from a company that
previously purchased one of the first iTerminals(TM) to be shipped.
The customer is a facilities-based provider of wireless services in the
Southeastern U.S. that also augments its own network by reselling services on
PNI's networks. The customer intends to deploy the iTerminals(TM) in a number
of markets to expand its points-of presence ("POPs"). By leveraging the
Internet as the transport backbone for messaging traffic, the iTerminal(TM)
allows this operator to expand its market presence into remote POPs that may
have previously been cost prohibitive.
The iTerminal(TM) is the first in a suite of products that incorporates
certain features of PNI's patented Platform1(TM) high-speed switch modules.
The iTerminal(TM) allows operators to provide paging, voice messaging and
email notification from a standard PC-based chassis with HTML (web browser)
screens. The iTerminal(TM) can be located in most standard business offices
and the actual messaging traffic is passed over the Internet using proprietary
software that embeds the paging protocol (TNPP) data into Internet protocol
packets.
Mark Dunaway, CEO of PNI, said, "We are extremely excited about the
reception the iTerminal(TM) is receiving in the marketplace. We are
particularly pleased with the early performance acceptance and the short cycle
between this customer's first order and the decision to further deploy
iTerminals(TM) in its business. We believe this repeat order is a strong
endorsement of the tremendous value the iTerminal(TM) brings to companies
seeking to expand their market presence and integrate mobile wireless data
with the Internet."
Preferred Networks, Inc., headquartered in metropolitan Atlanta, provides
outsourcing solutions to the wireless industry, which allow companies to offer
branded wireless services directly to subscribers, while relying on PNI to
provide high-quality network services and technology gateway products. PNI
offers its services through its PNI Access Services Division(SM). PNI's
