SEATTLE, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Immunex Corporation (Nasdaq: IMNX)
announced today key personnel moves as part of its long-term, strategic plan
for growth and commercialization. Efi Cohen-Arazi joins Immunex as senior vice
president of supply operations, Michael Aguiar as the new vice president of
finance, and Deborah Helleson is promoted to vice president of business
development.

chief operating officer.
Efi Cohen-Arazi joins Immunex in a new position, to execute the long-term
manufacturing strategy for the company. He will have responsibility for
overseeing all manufacturing and quality operations, as well as directing
supply chain operations, materials and logistics. Cohen-Arazi was most
recently with Ares-Serono, a European biotech company, where he was
responsible for the build-out and operation of the company's state-of-the-art,
multi-purpose biologics manufacturing and research facility in Switzerland.
The facility provided independent and flexible bulk production using
recombinant mammalian cell technology.
As vice president of finance, Michael Aguiar is responsible for planning
and analysis, as well as tax and accounting activities. He joins Immunex from
Honeywell International where he was most recently chief financial officer for
the $1.1 billion Electronic Materials division. During his six years at
Honeywell, formerly AlliedSignal, Aguiar held a variety of senior financial
positions in the aerospace, automotive and electronic materials divisions.
As vice president of business development, Deborah Helleson has been
tapped to lead new business development initiatives for Immunex. A seven-year
veteran of Immunex, Helleson worked previously for Bayer, Bristol-Myers
Squibb, and Isomedix focusing on international technical evaluation and
project management.
