WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T)
today announced the availability of the Motorola M900, a powerful and
durable mobile voice solution that enables state-of-the-art in-vehicle
communications ideal for the needs of homeland security and emergency
management professionals.
The M900, which is available through AT&T's wireless Government sales
organization, is a robust, high-performance unit easily installed into
service vehicles used by the military, federal, state and local government
and emergency management agencies. The unit's physical design,
state-of-the-art technology and specially designed vehicle interfaces are
dedicated to delivering dependable, easily accessible communication so that
homeland security and emergency management professionals can stay connected
when carrying out mission-critical tasks.
"Emergency responders demand another level of communication when they
are out in the field. We are committed to meeting their unique needs with a
government-grade network that is focused on providing reliability and
accessibility when they need it most," said Chris Hill, vice president of
Government Solutions Group for the AT&T wireless unit. "Our new voice
solution for government, which couples our network with Motorola's M900,
gives users a critical tool with which to stay connected during crucial
operations."
Motorola's M900 delivers extended network coverage over standard
portable cell phones through a 2-watt radio frequency (RF) amplification
for enhanced connections in urban and remote locations. The unit also
delivers superior hands-free audio quality for clear and sharp pickup,
background-noise suppression and echo cancellation.
Users can also benefit from those M900 features affording more
convenience and safety. Such features include the high-resolution graphic
display with full-size characters and adjustable blue backlight contrast
setting for easy reading, large, well-spaced tactile keys for dialing
accuracy and speed and an advanced voice-activation button to activate
phone functions, such as name- and number-dialing, through the use of
spoken commands.
AT&T will be demonstrating the Motorola M900 at Booth 810 at the AFCEA
Homeland Security Conference, Feb. 28 -- March 1, 2007, in Washington, D.C.
