Company Provides Voice and Data Services
For more than 100 Key Government Locations in Iraq

HERNDON, Va., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Segovia, Inc., a leading provider of
secure global voice, data, and video broadband satellite services, has emerged
as a key telecommunications provider for the Iraqi reconstruction efforts.
With contracts from the US Navy Space and Warfare Command (SPAWAR), the US
Army Space Command, and the Army Corps of Engineers, Segovia provides VoIP
service, Broadband Internet Access, and Secure VPN capability to thousands of
US Military, government, key Allies, and Iraqi citizens serving the new
Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) Government.
"We are pleased that our comprehensive service is making a significant
contribution to the Provisional Authority and that we are becoming recognized
as the telecom service provider of choice," said Segovia President and CEO
Mike Wheeler. "We have established a clear leadership position due to our
ability to provide coverage for the way the government and the military
communicate today - IP broadband services (voice, data and video) anywhere. We
have the ability to reach the far corners of the earth as well as mobile
environments."
"The Department of Defense (DoD) has outlined its vision for future
communications capabilities. That 'future' is here today and Segovia is
providing it right now in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and in the United States,"
said Kirby Farrell, Segovia Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Segovia is the backbone of a mission-critical voice and data
communications network to support the Iraq Reconstruction Project. In
addition, SPAWAR chose Segovia to build 145 MWR (Morale, Welfare and
Recreation) sites in Iraq so that military personnel could access the
Internet, surf the web, use personal e-mail, and call their loved ones in the
United States and Germany. Tens of thousands of military personnel continue
to use this system each month.
