SAN DIEGO, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of Commerce (Nasdaq: BCOM), an SBA
Preferred Lender, today announced the opening of a new loan production office
(LPO) serving Boise and the Southern Idaho small business lending market. The
new office operates as Commerce Loan Company, a division of Bank of Commerce
and is located at 290 Bobwhite Court, Suite 240, Boise.
"Boise is another of the key emerging small business markets that needs
the specialized type of SBA guaranteed financing we provide for commercial
real estate owner-users," said David H. Bartram, senior executive vice
president.
Kenneth B. Stackpoole has been hired as the first business development
officer at the new office. Stackpoole was a senior loan officer with United
Mortgage Co., of Idaho. Prior to that he worked for the Small Business
Administration (SBA) as a loan specialist.
"Ken Stackpoole commands a wealth of experience in finance and SBA lending
in particular and we are pleased to have him on our team," Bartram said.
San Diego-based Bank of Commerce, one of the nation's largest Small
Business Association (SBA) lenders and the largest SBA lender in California in
dollars loaned, signed a definitive agreement on February 18, 1999, to be
acquired by Minnesota based U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB). A copy of the Agreement
and Plan of Reorganization between U.S. Bancorp and Bank of Commerce is filed
with both the Federal Reserve Bank system and the Nasdaq under cover of a
Form 8-K.

California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Texas,
Illinois, New Mexico, Utah, and Georgia. In addition, Bank of Commerce
