SAN FRANCISCO, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Guys (Nasdaq: GGUY), a leading
specialty retailer of consumer entertainment electronics, today announced the
appointment of two corporate officers. Cathy A. Stauffer has been appointed
Vice President of Merchandising after serving in that position on an interim
basis since July, and Richard C. Gazlay, formerly the Director of Operations,
has been promoted to Vice President of Operations.

Stauffer will continue to be responsible for managing and developing
vendor relationships and overseeing the product selection at Good Guys'
79 stores. During her 18 years with Good Guys, Stauffer has served as a
corporate officer in three different capacities, overseeing marketing, quality
and now merchandising. Stauffer joined Good Guys in 1977 and held various
positions in advertising and marketing before being named Vice President of
Marketing in 1988 where she served until 1993. Ms. Stauffer returned to Good
Guys in 1998 as a consultant and was named Vice President of Quality later
that year. She was appointed interim Vice President of Merchandising in July.
Gazlay will be responsible for overseeing Good Guys' distribution center,
customer call center, installation services, customer service and real estate.
Gazlay joined Good Guys in 1990 and spearheaded the formation of company's
internal service organization, including in-store, field and customer-install
services. He left Good Guys in January 1999 and returned in September 1999 to
lead an effort to improve the efficiency of Good Guys' distribution center.
A 17-year veteran of retail service and operations, Gazlay began his career in
consumer electronics with Tandy and Circuit City.
The company also announced that Tad Hayashi, a 17-year Good Guys veteran
who has served in a variety of sales and marketing positions, has been
promoted to Director of Stores and will be responsible for overseeing sales at
all 79 Good Guys locations. Also, Jeff Linden, formerly Director of
Distribution at Cost Plus Worldwide Market, has joined Good Guys as Director
of Distribution and Logistics.
