Company donates over 60,000 snack bags via online giveaway
NOTTINGHAM, Pa., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 700 deserving soldiers are
receiving a mouth-watering taste of home thanks to Herr Foods' online
giveaway.

The Philadelphia-area snack food manufacturer is sending care packages -
each with two cases of single-serving snack bags - to troops stationed
overseas.
Herr Foods offered the free snacks during February, which is National
Snack Food Month. Soldiers and their family members registered for the care
packages on the company's Web site, http://www.herrs.com.
"Response to the 'Snacks for Soldiers' program has been tremendous," said
Ed Herr, president of Herr Foods Inc. "We began filling care package requests
last month and have already received many gratifying, heart-felt notes of
thanks from troops and their family members."
Judy Turbedsky of West Chester, Pa., is one of those family members. She
requested that a care package be sent to her son, Sgt. 1st Class Mark
Turbedsky, who is serving at Kirkuk Airbase, Iraq.
"My son and his fellow soldiers say thank you from the bottom of their
bellies," said Turbedsky.
Staff Sgt. John Henson was on the receiving end. While on tour in
Afghanistan, his family sent him snacks through Herr Foods' giveaway.
In an email response, he wrote, "It means a lot to me and my soldiers that
there are people and companies like yours who care about us while we are over
here. Thank you for supporting us."
Herr Foods accepted requests until midnight on February 28 and will
continue filling those orders throughout March.
