NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran information technology executive
William C. Pratt has been named chief information officer and senior vice
president for technology of PR Newswire, the world leader in electronic news

Pratt, 40, joins PRN from Bantam Doubleday Dell, where he was in charge of
the complete restructuring of the publisher's technology base and the
introduction of new Internet and database access services.

With two decades of experience, Pratt will be responsible for all of PRN's

Pat Touanen, who retired in December but remains actively involved in the

Previously chief technology officer of a division of Simon & Shuster,
Inc., Pratt also was a manager at AT&T communications and a senior consultant
at Arthur Andersen & Co. in New York. He earned an MBA from the Rutgers
School of Management in 1987 following his undergraduate degree in economics
from Drew University in 1980.
