ZEELAND, Mich., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation, the
leading supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide automotive
industry, has completed construction of its new automotive sales and
engineering facility in Erlenbach, Germany. The new facility will allow
Gentex to better serve its European customers and enhance the Company's
ability to provide logistics, quality, engineering and sales services.
Gentex's new $5 million (U.S.) German facility features 20,000-square-feet
of office space and 30,000-square-feet designated for warehousing, light
mirror assembly and distribution, and replaces a leased building. The Company
also maintains European sales and engineering offices in the United Kingdom
and France and opened a satellite sales office in Munich in 2003.
In 2003, Gentex shipped approximately three million mirror units to
European customers.
In January, Gentex was one of only eight companies worldwide that was
recognized by DaimlerChrysler as a Top Global Supplier for 2003 in that
company's Global Supplier Awards program. The award was based on Gentex's
performance related to quality, cost, technology and delivery for exterior
auto-dimming mirrors. Gentex supplies both Mercedes and Chrysler car groups
with a variety of automatic-dimming mirrors and related electronic features.
