COLUMBIA, S.C., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Edens & Avant, the nation's
largest private owner of grocery-anchored shopping centers, announced today
the promotion of Jerry M. Matelski to Vice President of Asset Management.
According to Terry S. Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Matelski will be
responsible for the asset management of Edens & Avant's retail assets in the
Company's Northeast portfolio. Currently, Edens & Avant assets in the
Northeast Region comprise more than five million square feet of retail space
valued at approximately $650 million.
Matelski joined Edens & Avant in July, 1999, after a 15-year career with
Equitable Real Estate and Lend Lease Real Estate. He immediately assumed
responsibility for the asset management of Edens & Avant's acquired portfolio
of 22 shopping centers in New England, and the Company's Florida portfolio,
which comprised nine shopping centers. He was instrumental in planning the
staffing needs and requirements for the Company's Northeast Regional
Headquarters in Boston, which opened in August 2002.
