HOUSTON, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Marathon Oil Corporation
(NYSE: MRO) announced today the following organizational changes among its
senior management team. All changes are effective April 1, 2008.
-- Steven B. Hinchman, currently senior vice president of Worldwide
Production, has been named executive vice president of Technology and
Services. He will have responsibility for Health, Environment and
Safety; Upstream Technology; Emerging Technology; Major Projects;
Corporate Social Responsibility; and Commercial Services.
-- David E. Roberts, Jr., currently senior vice president of Business
Development, has been named executive vice president, Upstream. In this
role, Roberts will have responsibility for worldwide Exploration,
Production and Integrated Gas, as well as upstream business
development.
-- R. Douglas Rogers, currently organizational vice president of
Environment, Safety and Emergency Response, has been named vice
president of Health, Environment and Safety. Rogers' responsibilities
will also include emergency preparedness and security.
-- Daniel J. Sullenbarger, currently vice president of Corporate
Responsibility, has been named vice president of Corporate Compliance
and Ethics. In this role, Sullenbarger will be responsible for
Marathon's business integrity office and will serve as the Company's
chief compliance officer.
Hinchman, Roberts and Sullenbarger will continue to report to Clarence
P. Cazalot, Jr., Marathon president and CEO. Rogers will report to
Hinchman.

Steven B. Hinchman has been senior vice president of Worldwide
Production for Marathon Oil Corporation and has served as a member of
Marathon's Executive Committee since January 2002. Previously, Hinchman was
appointed senior vice president of Production Operations in 2000. He joined
the Company in 1980 as a field engineer and subsequently held a number of
technical, staff and managerial positions of increasing responsibility in
the Company's domestic and international exploration and production
organizations. Hinchman received a bachelor's degree in petroleum
engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1980, and a master's
degree in the same field of study from the Colorado School of Mines in
1987.
David E. Roberts, Jr. joined Marathon in 2006 as senior vice president
of Business Development for Marathon Oil Corporation and has served as a
member of Marathon's Executive Committee. He previously served as executive
vice president/managing director for BG Group with responsibility for Asia
and the Middle East. Prior to joining BG, he served as advisor to the vice
chairman of ChevronTexaco Corporation (now Chevron Corporation) from 2001
to 2003, where he provided strategic and operational advice to executive
management regarding the Company's upstream operations. He joined Texaco in
1983. Roberts is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa,
Ala., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mineral engineering.
R. Douglas Rogers has been organizational vice president, Safety,
Environment and Emergency Response since 2007. Previously, in 2005 he was
named manager of Marathon Petroleum Company LLC's Environment, Safety and
Security organization in Findlay. From 2000 to 2004, he held various
management positions including Product Quality manager. Rogers served as
Marathon's Emergency Preparedness manager from 1998 until 2000. Since
joining Marathon in 1985 as a pipeline engineer, he held various
engineering related positions in Findlay and Atlanta before moving into
Marathon's Health, Environment and Safety organization in 1997. Rogers is a
graduate of Purdue University in Indiana, where he earned a bachelor's
degree in civil engineering.
Daniel J. Sullenbarger has been vice president, Corporate
Responsibility for Marathon Oil Corporation since 2005. Previously, he had
served as vice president of Health, Environment and Safety since September
2000. In September 1998, he was appointed vice president of Human Resources
and Environment. Since joining Marathon in 1975, Sullenbarger held a number
of positions in the law organization in Findlay, Ohio, London and Houston.
Sullenbarger earned an undergraduate degree in political science from
Bowling Green State University in 1973 and a law degree from Ohio Northern
University in 1976.
