Urbancode Unveils New Automation Server at SD West

Attendees to Test Drive the New Urbancode Automation Server as well as
                 Urbancode's Popular AnthillPro ALA Server

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Urbancode, leader in
Continuous Integration, Build Management, and Application Lifecycle
Automation (ALA), today unveiled a new automation server at Software
Development Conference & Expo West (SD West, http://www.sdexpo.com).
Visitors to Urbancode's booth # 212 can see a live demonstration of the
Urbancode Automation Server, designed to automate processes that do not
neatly fall into well defined lifecycle stages. Urbancode will also
demonstrate AnthillPro ALA, its full-featured, enterprise-level server that
is aimed at automating specific lifecycle stages such as Continuous
Integration, Build Management, Deployment, Test Orchestration, and Release.

"SD West provides an ideal venue for demonstrating our expanded product
line. We are introducing the Urbancode Automation Server, created at the
request of customers seeking to automate ancillary processes," said
Urbancode president Maciej Zawadzki. "We are also showing visitors how our
flagship tool, AnthillPro 3.4, provides automated solutions in Continuous
Integration, Build and Dependency Management, Deployment Automation, Test
Orchestration, and Release Management. Visitors dropping by the booth can
get a hands-on introduction to the Urbancode Automation Server and
AnthillPro."

Urbancode Automation Server Complements Lifecycle Automation

The new Urbancode Automation Server provides complementary automation
to AnthillPro and other targeted lifecycle automation solutions. Utilizing
the same technology as AnthillPro, the Urbancode Automation Server executes
processes across a grid of distributed agents to provide automation related
to but not directly a part of any specific application lifecycle stage. The
Urbancode Automation Server offers customers features such as:

-- Web 2.0 user interface -- no XML file editing or scripting required; interface offers a drill-down view of steps and log files -- Flexible process execution -- through the user interface, web service API, or Cron-like schedule -- Extensible step types -- ships with a pre-installed catalog of steps to automate command and script execution, file transfer, report generation, and more -- Custom step types -- create new step types in addition to the pre-installed catalog -- Step timeout feature prevents hanging commands -- Step distribution -- assigns steps to agents based on resource criteria and load balancing -- Flexible notifications -- customize schemes to notify individual users on procedure success, failure, or abort -- User-defined, role-based security "Whereas AnthillPro is targeted at specific lifecycle stages such as CI, Build, Deploy and Release, and provides specific features that add value in those areas, the Automation Server exposes some of the raw power behind AnthillPro to achieve more distributed process automation," concluded Zawadzki. "We congratulate Urbancode on their new automation server," said Beth Kuzmak, vice president of engineering of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based Portico Systems. "We've been using AnthillPro for more than a year to automate our software builds and deployments. AnthillPro helped our software development team to streamline and automate processes, significantly reducing manual work. AnthillPro is configurable to fit our business needs and easily integrates with other tools."
