DETROIT, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Bosch Corporation has been named a
winner of the 2002 Automotive News PACE(TM) Awards for its innovative aero
twin wiper blade technology.
The new generation wiper blade offers improved wiping quality with a
unique design. Unlike the conventional wiper blade articulated sections, the
aero blade is pressed onto the window with two pre-curved spring rails,
improving distribution of pressure. Eliminating the sections reduces airflow
turbulence over the blade and significantly lowers wind noise.
The spoiler-shaped aero blade also helps provide clear vision even when
the vehicle is traveling at high speeds. The absence of the wiper blade
superstructure enables the aero blade design to outperform conventional wiper
blades on windy winter days by reducing snow and ice build up.
Jointly established by Ernst & Young and Automotive News in 1994, the PACE
(Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contributions to Excellence) Awards program
honors automotive suppliers who have embraced innovation or adapted and
reinvented themselves.
Bosch designs and produces precision automotive components and systems
sold to vehicle and powertrain manufacturers worldwide. These include systems
and components for gasoline and diesel injection, airbag components, ABS and
conventional braking systems, telematics, as well as small motors, electrical
and electronic equipment.
Robert Bosch Corporation, the wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch
GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is responsible for North American
operations.
