Delphi Engineer Wins SAE Award for Young Engineers

    TROY, Mich., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- One of Delphi Corp.'s (NYSE: DPH)
brightest engineers, Chantal S. Parenteau, Ph.D., won the Society of
Automotive Engineers / InterRegs Standards & Regulations Award for Young
Engineers for her work in helping to improve safety in automobiles.

    "SAE created this award to encourage more participation in the standards
and regulations area of engineering among young engineers.  And we are very
pleased to see Chantal recognized for her outstanding work and contributions
to the industry so early in her career," said James A. Maniscalco, general
director of Engineering at Delphi Safety & Interior Systems.
    The recognition consists of an honorarium and an engraved award.
Parenteau is a staff biomechanical engineer at Delphi Safety & Interior
Systems, a division of Delphi Corp.  Since Parenteau joined Delphi in 1998,
she has led and supported various advanced occupant protection systems
projects.  Parenteau's main focus is analyzing field data accidents and
conducting biomechanical research that results in the selection of key
occupant safety technologies.
    Parenteau has authored or collaborated on more than 25 scientific papers
and nine technical presentations.
    In 2000, Parenteau became the co-organizer for the Biomechanics Session at
the SAE Congress.  She was the recipient of the David Foust Memorial Fund,
administered by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine
(AAAM) and of the Vagverkets Jubileums Fund, administered by the Swedish
National Road Administration.
    Parenteau graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania
with a Bachelor of Science in BioEngineering.  She also earned a Master of
Science in BioEngineering from the same university.  Parenteau was also part
of the Mathematics and Engineering Honor Societies.  In 1996 she earned her
doctoral degree from Chalmers University in Sweden.
