high-profile politicians? Learn from Anne Swanson, who has worked behind
the scenes. Join the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA on March 7 as
Swanson regales anecdotes from her career, including positions as press
aide for former Gov. George W. Bush, press secretary for first lady Laura
Bush on the Bush for President campaign and speechwriter for Texas
Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn.
Swanson spent the first 10 years of her career in television news,
working as a reporter, anchor and producer in Lubbock, Bryan/College
Station and Austin. Anne earned a bachelor's in journalism from the
University of Texas at Austin and a master's of arts in communication
industries management from Emerson College in Boston. She has taught
journalism on the adjunct faculties of the University of Texas at Austin,
St. Edward's University and the University of North Texas. Anne currently
works in internal communication for Northrop Grumman IT.
