Logitech(R) Debuts New USB Keyboard and Optical Mouse Designed For PlayStation(R)2

New Gaming Peripherals Deliver Additional Control Options For Gamers

    FREMONT, Calif., March 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI; Switzerland: LOGN) today announced that its USB
Keyboard and Optical Mouse designed for the PlayStation(R)2 computer
entertainment system is scheduled to arrive on retail shelves in the U.S. and
at http://www.logitech.com later this month. The USB Keyboard has a suggested retail
price of $29.95 USD and the Optical Mouse has a suggested retail price of
$19.95 USD. Both products are on display at the Logitech booth (#1008) at the
Game Developers Conference.
"We've taken our experience and leadership in keyboards and mice and used
them to deliver two quality products that offer new control options to
PlayStation(R)2 fans," said Fred Swan, Director of Marketing for Logitech's
Audio and Interactive Entertainment Business Unit. "As more and more titles
provide the option of using something other than a gamepad as a controller,
gamers are looking for reliable, high performance devices. We're meeting this
need with products designed for them."
Logitech has created a quality USB Keyboard for PlayStation(R)2, with a
familiar keyboard layout and comfortable, quiet keys. The keyboard, especially
ideal for gamers who chat online, features a compact design that sits easily
on the lap or tabletop.
The Logitech Optical Mouse, from the company that has sold more than 400
million mice, features optical tracking technology to provide exceptional
precision and speed on almost any surface. This optical tracking technology
has no moving parts and requires no cleaning. The mouse can be used with
either hand, while three buttons and a scroll wheel give expanded control
options within a number of games. Both the keyboard and the mouse include an
8-foot cable, enabling players to use each device from a comfortable distance.
Developers continue to build support for the keyboard and mouse into many
games. Currently, both products are supported by: Unreal Tournament from
Infogrames, Red Faction(R) II from THQ, Half-Life from Sierra, and Majesco's
Soldier of Fortune and Star Trek: Elite Force. In addition, Rune Viking
Warlord from Take2 includes keyboard support.
