Fujitsu to Introduce New 32-bit Networking MCU, FlexRay Board at Annual Embedded Systems Conference, March 8-10

Demonstrations of MMPs, Graphic Display Controllers, MCU Families in Booth 916

Embedded Systems Conference, SAN FRANCISCO, March 7 /PRNewswire/ --
Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will introduce a new family of
microcontrollers for network security applications, along with its new
FlexRay(R) Evaluation Kit, an FPGA-based development platform for vehicle
systems, at the annual Embedded Systems Conference at San Francisco's Moscone
Center March 8 to 10.
Fujitsu will also announce that its MBF200 single touch sensor and MBF310
Sweep Sensor(TM) have been selected for a new fingerprint-verification
reference design module developed by Shimon Systems and based on DSP
technology from Texas Instruments Incorporated. (See the March 1, 2005, press
release from TI and Shimon.) ODI, a leading developer of cost-effective,
highly integrated embedded systems, has selected the Fujitsu fingerprint
sensors for its compact, embedded fingerprint-matching modules.
In addition, FMA will present its newest Coral-P and Coral PA Graphics
Display Controllers, featuring 2D/3D graphics drivers developed by ALT
Software, which allow the GDCs to operate on ALT's OpenGL(R) and OpenGL ES
architectures.
FMA also will demonstrate its 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit MCUs, along with
its Mobile Media Processors, which are designed for cellular phones, PDAs and
other handheld devices.

New 32-Bit MCUs, FlexRay Evaluation Kit
The new MB9140x microcontroller series features the industry's first 32-
bit MCUs equipped with a full range of networking security features, on-board
ROM and RAM, and support for IPv6, the next-generation Internet protocol.
The FlexRay Evaluation Kit enables the design and verification of hardware
and software applications for vehicle power train and other applications. The
kit allows designs to begin prior to the availability of production silicon,
so customers can get working FlexRay products to market in the fastest
possible time. FlexRay is the newly emerging automotive network-communications
standard, providing dependability, availability, flexibility, and high data
rates.
