While the auto industry has wrestled with the issue of hardware
compatibility for satellite radio, Visteon developed the capability of
providing a single receiver architecture that works with the two most
prominent service providers.
Visteon's satellite radio system will be offered across multiple Nissan
and Infiniti car lines beginning in 2005. "This is an important business win
for Visteon," said John Engebretson, director of Visteon's Nissan customer
business group. "This is our first audio business with Nissan, and it
represents an opportunity to build on a relationship with one of our fastest-
growing customers."
The single-design packaging solution was developed to give both automakers
and consumers more flexibility. Visteon's customer and consumer research
shows that consumers want to personalize their automobile and have a choice of
satellite radio service providers. Automakers want to meet the needs of
consumers cost-effectively. Visteon's commitment to helping customers
differentiate their vehicles is resulting in continued innovation and the
development of cost-effective solutions.
Visteon Corporation is a leading full-service supplier that delivers
consumer-driven technology solutions to automotive manufacturers worldwide and
through multiple channels within the global automotive aftermarket. Visteon
has about 72,000 employees and a global delivery system of more than 180
technical, manufacturing, sales and service facilities located in 25
