DETROIT, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Find out what "Cool Cities" grant
recipients are doing to promote their cities/communities at a Women In
Communications of Detroit program on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. The evening
takes place at the Bagley Art Gallery, 2715 Bagley in Detroit, from 5:30 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m.
Cristina Sheppard-Decius, Ferndale Downtown Development Authority
Executive Director; Gina Cavaliere, Warren Downtown Development Authority
Director; and Kathy Wendler, Director of the Southwest Detroit Business
Association, will discuss long-term design concepts, marketing efforts,
community cooperation and organization, and some economic restructuring to
strengthen their economic base while expanding it to meet new opportunities.
The cost is $20 for Women In Communications members, $30 for non-members,
and $20 for students. The fee covers a Mexican meal. Deadline for

The "Cool Cities" initiative (http://www.coolcities.com ) was launched in
June 2003 throughout the state, in part as an urban strategy to revitalize
communities, build community spirit, and most importantly, retain our
"knowledge workers" who are leaving Michigan.
