SAN JOSE, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Altera Corporation's (Nasdaq: ALTR) chief architect of the Nios(TM) embedded
processor, Tim Allen, is scheduled to give a live demonstration of the
recently announced SOPC Builder development tool at this week's Embedded
Systems Conference. As part of the "Challenge the Expert" event hosted at the
Altera booth 1414 at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th, registered conference
participants will be asked to guess how many minutes it will take Allen to
build a custom system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solution. Allen will also
discuss Altera's Excalibur(TM) embedded processor solutions, the only complete
embedded solution available now in the PLD industry. More details of the
event are on

SOPC Builder is an automated system development tool that simplifies and
accelerates the process of integrating complex designs in a matter of minutes.
Prior to the introduction of the tool, system designers took months to
complete a custom system design.
Altera will be exhibiting SOPC Builder with all of its Excalibur embedded
processor solutions at booth 1414 during the Embedded Systems Conference to be
held March 12-16 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more information
