Lufthansa Brings Washington D.C. Service to New Heights

      Daily Munich Flights Begin May 2 with New Business Class On-Board;
                         FlyNet Returns to Washington

EAST MEADOW, N.Y., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Lufthansa today announced the
expansion of its Washington service with daily non-stop flights to Munich
beginning May 2. The new service will feature Lufthansa's new Business Class
product, which offers travelers the longest bed in Business Class at 6.5 feet,
and FlyNet(TM), the industry's first in-flight wireless Internet service, with
high-speed Internet access from Connexion by Boeing. The new flight will
complement Lufthansa's twice-daily service from Washington D.C. to Frankfurt
and the existing daily service to Munich provided by Star Alliance partner
United Airlines.
Lufthansa Flight LH 415 will depart Washington daily at 8:10 p.m. and
arrive in Munich at 10:25 a.m. local time the next day. The return flight, LH
414, will depart Munich daily at 3:10 p.m. and arrive in Washington at 6:20
p.m., local time the same day. The route will be operated by an Airbus
A340-300 aircraft featuring 8 seats in First, 36 Business Class seats and 197
in Economy.
"The new service offers Washington passengers not only an additional
option for travel to Munich and beyond, but a much more comfortable trip with
the newest Lufthansa in-flight products on-board," said Carleen Goeckel,
Lufthansa's Regional Sales Manager -- Mid-Atlantic and Southeast USA. "Our
Washington passengers were very enthusiastic about FlyNet during its three-
month test period in early 2003, and we are thrilled to welcome it back home.
It will also be available on select Washington, D.C - Frankfurt flights,"
Goeckel added.
FlyNet, in cooperation with Connexion by Boeing, provides unrestricted in-
flight Internet access with a laptop or other mobile device via wireless LAN
for a small fee. Lufthansa passengers can surf the Web, send emails with
attachments or connect via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to their company's
intranet or email server.
"We are excited to once again be able to allow passengers travelling to
and from the Washington, D.C. market the opportunity to be connected to the
things that are important to them," said Connexion Vice President of Marketing
and Direct Sales David Friedman. "The Connexion by Boeing service, coupled
with Lufthansa's FlyNet portal, will help ensure that passengers are on the
leading edge in terms of being informed, productive and entertained in
flight."
Miles and More(TM) members will earn double miles each time they fly the
new flight between May 2 and June 30. Registration is required. For complete
