CHARLTON, Mass., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- FiberCore, Inc. (Nasdaq: FBCE),
a leading manufacturer and global supplier of optical fiber and preform for
the telecommunication and data communications markets, today announced that it
has been issued a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The patent covers the Company's new Plasma Outside Vapor Deposition ("POVD")
technology that can be used to manufacture high quality synthetic silica
tubes.
These tubes are used as a raw material by the Company to manufacture
single-mode and multimode preforms. Over the next twelve months, the Company
plans to augment its tube requirements through its own internally manufactured
tubes.
