Robbie Bach and J Allard Underscore Microsoft's Commitment to
Helping Developers Turn Innovation Into Impact
SAN FRANCISCO, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The 18th annual Game Developers
Conference (GDC) has expanded its keynote lineup to feature two prominent
Microsoft executives -- Robbie Bach, Senior Vice President and J Allard,
Corporate Vice President. GDC, the world's largest event exclusively devoted
to the art of game creation, will take place Monday through Friday, March 22 -
26, 2004 in San Jose, Calif.
In the Microsoft keynote, entitled "Turning Innovation into Impact," Bach
and Allard, joined by Advanced Technology Director Laura Fryer and Lead
Technical Evangelist for Windows Gaming and Graphics, Chris Donahue, will
discuss the importance of software in game development amid surging
development costs and skyrocketing consumer expectations. Shifting industry
focus from hardware to software -- Microsoft will not be announcing plans for
future Xbox consoles at this time.
"The game industry starts with the game creators," said Alan Yu, director,
Game Developers Conference. "We are honored to have Mr. Bach and Mr. Allard
share their thoughts on the industry's evolution at the GDC, the world's most
important game development conference."
The Microsoft keynote "Turning Innovation into Impact" is scheduled for
Wednesday, March 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Civic Auditorium of the
Convention Center.
The GDC will feature more than 300 lectures, panels, tutorials and
roundtable discussions across seven content tracks. For a complete list of
