LAS VEGAS, March 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Southwest Gas Corporation
(NYSE: SWX) announced today that director, LeRoy C. Hanneman, Jr., has
resigned from the Company's Board of Directors to devote more time to his
family and business interests. Mr. Hanneman had been a member of the
Company's Board of Directors since 2003 and was serving as Chairman of the
Board of Directors and on the Compensation Committee and Nominating and
Corporate Governance Committee at the time of his resignation.
With Mr. Hanneman stepping down, James J. Kropid was elected Chairman
of the Board of Directors and immediately assumed the associated
responsibilities, including those of Presiding Director. Mr. Kropid has
been a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 1997.
