VANCOUVER, Wash., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Lightwave Inc.
(Nasdaq: ELIX), today announced the appointment of Susan Farmer as
public relations manager.
Farmer's newly created position is part of the company's transition from
reliance on an outside public relations firm to an in-house communications
team.
"An important part of Electric Lightwave's business strategy is to be an
integral part of each of the communities we serve," said Jack Hardy, corporate
communications manager. "We decided that having our own public relations team
would strengthen our relationships with members of the media and community."
Farmer, a former business reporter, was most recently press secretary for
a member of Congress. She will manage the company's media and community
relations in Boise, Phoenix, Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Ore., Sacramento and
Salt Lake City.
Electric Lightwave's corporate communications department is headed by
Hardy and includes Enid Lamey, public relations coordinator. Investor
relations continue to be handled by Fletcher Chamberlin, director of investor
relations.
