New GN 2100 SoundTube(TM) Designed to Replace Plastic Voice Tube Models
GN Netcom's Acoustic Transmission Line' (ATL) Technology Delivers
Clear, Crisp Voice Response
Sleek, One Piece, Coated Alloy Voice Tube Eliminates Replacement Cost
For Loose or Missing Parts
NASHUA, N.H., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- GN Netcom, a world leader in hands
free communications technologies for the call center and general office
markets, today introduced the new GN 2100 SoundTube(TM), a professional
quality headset that incorporates the first significant advancement in voice
tube technology in years. The sleek, lightweight new headset is designed
specifically to address the common problems associated with traditional voice
tube headsets such as poor sound and product quality, and loose or missing
parts.
The GN 2100 SoundTube features a single piece, coated alloy voice tube
with no moving parts, ending user frustration with plastic voice tubes that
eventually stretch, loosen, and fall off. The tube itself is finely calibrated
using GN Netcom's Acoustic Transmission Line (ATL) technology to deliver the
clearest, crispest sound with no voice distortion. Priced to compete directly
with traditional voice tube headsets, the GN 2100 SoundTube is the flagship
model in GN Netcom's new GN 2100 series of professional headsets.
"We knew that users of old-fashioned voice tube headsets were frustrated.
They were burdened with a product that was just not performing in terms of
sound quality, durability and comfort," said Niels B. Christiansen, president
and CEO of GN Netcom. "We have a huge stake in the call center and general
office market, so we decided to put our resources against solving this
widespread user problem. The result is our new GN 2100 SoundTube, the next
generation in voice tube technology and design."
User Preferences Confirmed
Voice tube headsets house the microphone element near the receiver, with a
slender tube positioned alongside the user's face that carries the voice up to
the microphone. With competing headset models, under certain conditions,
sound dampening material near the microphone leaves standing sound waves
inside the tube, causing voice distortion. GN Netcom's ATL technology
combines a finely calibrated, fixed-length voice tube and optimized acoustic
design to eliminate these standing sound waves in the tube for superior sound
quality.
To confirm that they were on the right track, GN Netcom commissioned an
independent lab test, where users were asked to compare GN 2100 SoundTube
headsets with other voice tube headsets in the areas of comfort, ergonomics,
visual appeal, and performance. The research revealed specific user concerns
about voice tube products including voice distortion and loosening, loss, and
clogging of the plastic tube. The new GN 2100 headsets received high marks
from users for sound quality, appearance, comfort and its single piece alloy
voice tube design, which eliminates frustrations with missing parts and
associated replacement costs.
"We were confident in the superiority of our design from the outset," says
P. Michael Fairweather, president and CEO of GN Netcom, Inc. and executive
vice president of GN Netcom Group. "The results of these tests validate that
confidence. We feel that the physical design of the GN 2100 SoundTube,
combined with the superior sound quality afforded by our ATL technology, gives
us what we believe to be the finest voice tube headset on the market."
A GN 2100 Headset for Every User
The GN 2100 series is available in a wide variety of styles to accommodate
all user preferences, including amplified or unamplified, monaural or binaural
and a choice of the SoundTube or Flex model, which features the superior new
highly-stylized DuraFlex II(TM) boom and a noise-canceling microphone
(GN 2120-NC). The amplified GN 2100 series headsets are compatible with
existing GN Netcom amplifiers.
Wearing comfort is further enhanced by the GN 2100 ear cushions, which are
covered in soft, durable leatherette that holds up to continual use in a call
center environment. All of the GN 2100 series headsets offer a wide range of
adjustability, with booms that can be positioned easily at any angle to
accommodate every user.
