The new products will be introduced to distributors and dealers during the
next 60 days.
"GN Netcom reaffirms its global leadership position in the professional
call center marketplace with these breakthrough introductions," said P.
Michael Fairweather, president and CEO of GN Netcom, Inc. and executive vice
president of GN Netcom Group. "These new products incorporate advancements in
headset design and acoustics, establishing new industry standards. We will
continue to focus our research and development efforts on providing the best
quality products for the telephone intensive call center and office markets."
The first products to launch, with shipments beginning in early April, are
the new GN 2100 Series, featuring the new SoundTube(TM), the first significant
advancement in voice tube headset technology and design. The GN 2100 is based
on years of intensive research and development. The result is a
technologically advanced headset with unsurpassed sound quality, unrivalled
durability, and a design that takes personal comfort to a new level. The GN
2100 SoundTube incorporates Acoustic Transmission Line (ATL) technology for
clear, crisp voice response with no sound distortion. The headset was
developed specifically to address common voice tube problems, such as
distorted sound and missing parts often associated with old-fashioned voice
tube-style headsets. The SoundTube is made from a single, coated alloy tube
with no moving parts, ending user frustration with plastic voice tubes that
loosen and fall off the headset. Priced to compete directly with traditional
voice tube headsets, the products are available in both monaural and binaural
versions. GN 2100 Flex models, with the new, superior DuraFlex II boom and
noise-canceling microphone, round out the GN 2100 Series portfolio.
Next in line are the sleek, lightweight GN 2200 Omega headsets, also
featuring the new DuraFlex II boom. The stylish new design and fashionable
silver finish add to this attractive headset. The GN 2200 Omega is a value
leader, ideally suited for call centers and general office markets where
comfort, quality and durability are essential. The product has already
received rave reviews from customers for its unique design and impressive
sound quality. Both the monaural and binaural headsets include a
noise-canceling microphone and the binaural offers a single-wire design for
comfort and convenience. Shipments for the new GN 2200 Series will begin in
May 2001.
Tuning in to the amplifier side, the new GN 8000-MPA and GN 8050-TCA will
sit proudly on the desk of even the most style-conscious office worker. The
GN 8000 Series is compatible with all four of GN Netcom's headset brands -- GN
Netcom, ACS, UNEX, and Liberation -- with the ability to automatically detect
which headset is connected; only the cord with Quick Disconnect are different.
Voice Switching technology helps reduce background noise and Voice Compression
technology guarantees consistent sound volume and protect against sudden, loud
bursts of noise, ensuring a safe work environment for users. As a result, the
GN 8000 Series is in compliance with FCC, UL and OSHA requirements. The low
profile, charcoal matte-finished amplifiers have a small 4-7/8-inch x
2-7/8-inch footprint, and come with a new translucent headset stand with an
optional On-Line indicator.
The GN 8050-TCA is designed for headset users who connect to both a PC and
a telephone, and can transition between the two with the flip of a switch.
The new amplifiers will be available beginning in May 2001.
"The GN 8000 Series allows GN Netcom users to standardize on a single
amplifier and still choose from the full array of GN Netcom headsets,"
Fairweather said. "Now they can select their headset based upon style,
application and value and not worry about compatibility issues. By
standardizing on a single amp, call centers will be able to protect their
headset investments for the future."
