2C Computing(R) Products Chosen as Finalist in Two Categories for Best New Technology Competition at FOSE

Cstations(TM) Selected by Government Computer News Editors for Best New
Desktop and Best New Security Technology

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, 2C Computing announced
its Cstations with Digital Extension Technology(TM) were selected as finalists
in two categories for the FOSE tradeshow's Best New Technology competition.
The Cstation, a first-of-its-kind device, helps to increase security and
reduce IT costs by enabling PCs to be centralized in a data center without
affecting an end-user's computing experience, choice of peripherals, or even
number of monitors used. By digitally extending a PC's system bus between
100-800 meters away from the desktop over copper or fiber cabling, this Split
Client(TM) computing strategy reduces infrastructure and support costs by
enabling computing resources to be upgraded, maintained, repaired and replaced
from a single location.
Editors of Government Computer News, one of Post Newsweek's premier
publications, reviewed over 500 submissions for the eleven competitive
categories to select 2C's Cstation L1000 as one of three finalists in the Best
New Desktop category, and the C1100 as one of two finalists for Best New
Security Hardware category.
To become finalists, products had to stand out among a large field of
competitors. Each category was judged by at least five members of Government
Computer News' editorial team. Each judge rendered his or her evaluations
separately, without seeing how other judges had scored the entries. According
to GCN Editorial Director Thomas R. Temin, this year's field was marked by
strong innovation and a solutions approach on the part of winning vendors.
"To become a finalist in this awards program, products must be not only
innovative, but also represent a good value," Temin said. "Government
customers operate under tight budget constraints, and economy is an important
factor in their vendor selection."
He added, "This year's field of contestants showed a real orientation
toward solutions and a keen understanding by vendors of their government
customer requirements."
"We are honored to be included in categories with companies such as Dell
and CyberGuard," said Remigius Shatas, CEO of 2C Computing, "and we wish to
thank the judges for recognizing the relevance of Digital Extension Technology
in solving the issues of desktop control and security."
