'Ultimate Product' for 2004 Selected by Readers and Editors of EE Times
and eeProductCenter
BEAVERTON, Ore., March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tektronix, Inc.
(NYSE: TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring
instrumentation, announced that the TPS2000 family of digital storage
oscilloscopes (DSO) has received the EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics
(ACE) award.
The inaugural EE Times ACE awards honor those who are leading the way and
making positive contributions -- the real innovators of technology. The
TPS2000 was named the "Ultimate Product" in Test & Measurement for 2004, the
most significant product introduced in the last twelve months. Finalists in
each category were chosen by qualified readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter
on a quarterly basis via electronic balloting.
"We think of the Ultimate Products program as the Zagat's guides of the
electronics industry," said Paul Miller, VP/Group Publisher, CMP Media
Electronics Group. "The awards celebrate the companies and products that
demonstrate leadership in the electronics industry. Tektronix is to be
congratulated for having several finalists in the Test & Measurement category
and for the TPS2000 -- the Ultimate Product for Test & Measurement for 2004."
"This peer-reviewed Ultimate Product award for 2004 from the editors and
readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter for the TPS2000 is gratifying and an
honor," said Bob Bluhm, General Manager, Value Oscilloscope Products,
Tektronix, Inc. "The TPS2000 oscilloscopes provide an all-in-one solution
that enables customers to accomplish more in less time and with less
equipment. We're proud that our innovation helps our customers to be more
productive."
TPS2000: Ideal for Lab or Field Use
The TPS2000 Series DSOs are designed to improve the productivity of
designers and technicians requiring a powerful, general-purpose oscilloscope
in a compact, portable package. The TPS2000 Series are the first
full-featured, four-isolated-channel, battery-powered oscilloscopes providing
an accomplished measurement tool equally adept in the lab or in the field.
The TPS2000 Series enables designers and technicians to make floating and
differential measurements quickly, accurately and affordably. Floating
measurements up to 30 Vrms can be made using the standard P2220 probe provided
with the TPS2000 oscilloscopes. Floating measurements of higher voltages can
be made using the TPS2PBND Power Bundle option. With the TPS2000 Series,
users can also quickly capture elusive glitches or anomalies that elude other
oscilloscopes in this class, and characterize fast edges on four channels
simultaneously with unique digital real-time (DRT) sampling technology. Users
can also easily correlate measurements between bench, lab or field with the
industry's longest battery operation.
