CMP Media Announces Winners for the 16th Annual Jolt Product Excellence & Productivity Awards

Both Industry Leaders and Newcomers Are Recognized for Innovation and
                           Technological Excellence

SAN FRANCISCO, March 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On Wednesday, March 15,
the editors of Dr. Dobb's Journal announced the winners of the 16th Annual
Software Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards. The
announcement was made at The Jolt Awards ceremony, held at the SD West 2006
Conference & Exposition at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The Software
Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards are presented
annually to products and books that have "jolted" the industry by helping to
create faster, easier and more efficient software.
"This has been an exciting year for the Jolts," says Rosalyn Lum,
technical editor for Dr. Dobb's Journal. "Not only did we see an unprecedented
number of nominations in categories representing every phase of the software
development cycle, we also found an exploding richness of features bundled in
today's products adding to the complexity to today's software development
tools and to the judging process. And, there were an equal number of new stars
that have quickly moved to address the needs that this very complexity in the
development environment has created. The winners reflect that innovation is
alive and well in both large established companies as well as new bright and
upcoming companies."
